President Obama’s Oval Office finally gets a makeover

The Oval Office was revamped last week while the First Family was in Martha’s Vineyard. A design team, led by designer to the stars, Michael Smith, adorned the Oval Office with a neutral color palette. Shifting away from the typical red, white and blue motif, President Obama’s office is done in browns and beiges with custom coffee-colored leather sofas. The piece d’ resistance is the custom-made rug with quotes from some of our most inspiring luminaries such as Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy and Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Designers are taking a cue from the politicians and remain split on what they think of the redo. Interior designer Mario Buatta, as quoted in The Washington Post, finds the sofas too casual and notes a relative lack of “regard for… history and tradition.”

The Aroma of Tyler Candles

As you may have figured out we are in love with our Tyler Candles. Made from the most premium waxes available, these candles have been delighting our patrons for a long time. The Cucumber Melon candle with its fresh cut melon and crisp cucumber scent is perfect for summer. And our Cowboy candle was a hit for the Western themed Night Out in C-Town event. One of my personal favorites is the Butter Me Up candle that actually smells like fresh buttered rolls right out of the oven, great for your kitchen.

Stop by The Final Touch and let your nose rejoice in their scent!
